Hussle, whose real name was Ermias Ashgedom, was a widely respected rapper and songwriter who represented much more than music. He ascended beyond the conditions of his childhood to become a pillar in his community.

Born in Los Angeles, California, Nipsey Hussle emerged from the West Coast hip hop scene in the mid-2000s and became known for his many mixtapes.

In 2018, he released his debut studio album titled Victory Lap to critical acclaim and commercial success. The album was nominated for the Best Rap Album at the 61st Grammy Awards in 2019.

Besides his music, Hussle was also known for his entrepreneurship. He represented entrepreneurship and ownership and was highly active in cryptocurrency. Nipsey was a rising star and he was certainly among rap’s most entrepreneurial.

On March 31, 2019, Hussle was fatally shot outside his store in South Los Angeles.
